I’ll always remember the time I first went to the Oriental University .
It started as a typical first day at university, when everyone tries to leave
their past behind and start afresh.
I have to say that I tend to keep myself to myself so I find it hard to
be open with people I’ve just met. I can’t say that I enjoy social situations where I don’t know
anyone that’s why on my first day at University I was feeling kind of nervous,
maybe a bit shy. I spent the whole time looking at other students wondering how
confident they looked. Then I started to communicate with them and I felt
completely relieved when I realized that they were as nervous as I was.
After classes my group mates – who
will be later learning Japanese like me – said that they wanted to go to the
café for a cup of coffee and ice-cream. I joined them without hesitation. Though
it was raining hard, it didn’t stop us. Only a few of us had umbrellas with
them, so very soon some of us got wet to the skin.
We wandered from one café to another trying to find a café
where eight people can sit at one and the same table together. We found
one at last and had a very good time
there.
Now I find it funny but three years ago it was so cold and rainy that I
don’t think it was.
By the way, two of those people
became my close friends.
Vlad, thank you for a nice story!
